Form & Function
Form and function of a structure is very important in architecture. For this project we had to draw a bridge, and then reconfigure the design of the bridge to incorporate a moving component.

Movement Analogy / Mechanism
The movement of the objects are being manipulated to be the mechanism to open and close the roadbed for traffic to pass either on the road or in the water. The gap in the bridge must clear a 30’ x 40’ opening to allow boats to pass through without any problems. The mechanism I incorporated into my bridge was the computer mount. I chose to design the arch bridge, so I was able to manipulated the form to create a structure that would support the pully system that will lift the roadbed up and down.
